LPGA Tour: England's Lottie Woad holds on for Kroger Queen City Championship win after eventful final round in Ohio

Lottie Woad closed out a second LPGA Tour title after overcoming a mid-round double-bogey to complete a two-shot victory at the Kroger Queen City Championship in Ohio.

Woad took a three-shot lead into the final day at Maketewah Country Club and made a fast start after two birdies in her first five holes, only to give hope to the chasing pack with a double-bogey at the par-four sixth.

The Englishwoman took advantage of the par-five next and cancelled out a bogey at the 13th with a birdie at the 17th, with a one-under 69 enough to hold off the chasing pack and register her first win of the season.

Woad finished on 12 under ahead of Haeran Ryu, who charged into contention with five birdies in a seven-hole stretch during her final-round 67, while AIG Women's Open champion Miyu Yamashita ended three strokes back in third ahead of China's Ruoning Yin.

"Obviously very, very happy and grateful," Woad said after her win. This one is definitely a little sweeter than the first one [ISPS Handa Women's Scottish Open], because I wasn't really expecting that. This one I've seen how good everyone is out there, so it's good to win again."

Former world No 1 Jin Young Ko charged up the leaderboard with a five-under 65 to share fifth spot with Amanda Doherty, with Jeeno Thitikul dropping to seventh place after back-to-back 69s over the weekend.

World No 1 Nelly Korda shared eighth place after a three-under 67, with Lydia Ko also on five under following a closing 71, as defending champion Charley Hull closed her tied-40th finish with a two-under 68.

Leonie Harm birdied her last two holes to snatch a one-shot victory and maiden Ladies European Tour title, on home soil, at the Amundi German Masters.

Harm fired a four-under 69 on the North Course at Green Eagle Golf Courses to finish on 10 under, a shot clear of South Africa's Casandra Alexander.

"I'm really happy I got it over the line this time after coming close in 2022 and just out here with all the German fans," Harm said. "So many people came out to support and that just means a lot."

Overnight leader Alexandra Forsterling stumbled to a three-over 76 to drop into a share of third with Chiara Noja and Anna Huang.

The Ladies European Tour heads to Morocco for the Lalla Meryem Cup, beginning Friday, while the LPGA Tour takes a week off before the Shoprite LPGA from May 29-31.

The next women's major is the US Women's Open from June 4-7, held at Riviera Country Club in California. or .
